Ramsey spent twenty years providing social services during which she became a passionate advocate for others, working to enhance community engagement, make information and resources more accessible and engage underserved communities. Ramsey is a dedicated volunteer, spending time every week working with incarcerated youth, suicide prevention and crisis services, and mentoring students. Ramsey also works with local arts organizations and food banks. In addition to her time at Echo Glen, Empower Youth Network, Crisis Connections and Reclaim, Ramsey is a member of the King County Women’s Advisory Board, which works to improve the lives of women throughout King County.
Ramsey was raised in the Portland, Oregon and attended the University of Washington obtaining both a BA in sociology and a Master’s of Social Work. Her career as a licensed clinical social worker began with a fellowship at the Veteran’s Administration Center for Excellence in Substance abuse and Addictions Education and treatment, learning about best practices and data driven interventions. Her subsequent career as a clinician and a supervisor was varied, most often providing mental health services, crisis intervention and addictions treatment. She has also worked with organizations helping people with emergency housing, financial and food assistance. Ramsey specialized in geriatric mental health and worked for Adult Protective Services helping vulnerable seniors and adults.
Ramsey moved to Snoqualmie in 2009 with her husband and two young sons, very glad to be back in the Pacific Northwest after over a decade in Singapore, New Jersey and California. When not at one of her many volunteer jobs, Ramsey loves to travel, read and spend time with her family. You may see her out and about in the valley on a hiking trail, at a trivia night, or enjoying a glass of wine at one of our many amazing wineries.
