After decades as a lawyer and HR executive navigating boardrooms and complex organizational challenges in a global enterprise, Lizanne traded in her spreadsheets and statutes, her cases and contingency plans and opted for the garden and pottery studio (where life “behind the wheel” has a very different meaning).
By day, this happily retired and recovering lawyer spends her hours elbow-deep in mud and clay, nurturing a menagerie of plants and creating sometimes wobbly but always well-intentioned pottery.
But come the evening, when she’s not turning out world-class jams and pies (ask anyone who's tried one!), she volunteers in the community, supporting organizations that promote education (particularly for those with language and learning differences), social justice, and the arts. She brings the same diligence and discipline that defined her career to her volunteer and board work. Whether mentoring young professionals, inspiring budding artists, or championing equity and access for all, Lizanne believes in showing up, pitching in, and laughing often—especially at herself.
Lizanne is the proud mom to two adult children who are thriving and kind. She lives under constant though dubious protection of her loyal (read: clingy) dog, Hobbes, whose constant schemes to break into the pantry betray an apparent penchant for treats that will land him (and his ever-patient owner) at the after-hours vet.
Guided by gratitude, creativity, and compassion, she brings both governance experience and a deep commitment to making a positive impact. Her pottery may be imperfect and a tad off-kilter at times. But in the end, like the most meaningful things in life, it is created with care, fostered with intention, and grounded in love.
