Marcia comes to Reclaim with decades of volunteer experience. She has extensive experience on both sides of volunteering; as a volunteer and in managing volunteers. Her background includes over twenty years as a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America (their name at that time) managing youth, adults, and programs. She spent over a decade filling a leadership role for a non-profit benefitting at-risk youth, and nearly 10 years on the Board of Directors for Encompass here in the Snoqualmie Valley. Her management background also includes serving for three years as Director at a confidential shelter for homeless women and their children in crisis. In addition, she has been an advocate for and supporter of Reclaim since the very beginning.
Marcia's educational background is in Marketing/Advertising. Her professional experience includes retail sales, transportation, and marketing in a variety of fields including civic events, destination resorts and professional rodeo.
Marcia and her husband, Joe, moved to the Snoqualmie Valley in 1998. Joe's last assignment after 20 years in the United States Coast Guard was aboard a Polar Ice Breaker out of Seattle. When his career ended, they had fallen in love with the area and stayed here.
Between the two of them, Marcia & Joe have two daughters, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. When time allows, they read, hike, travel, cook/bake and collect a myriad of unusual toys and banks. Joe builds n-gauge train dioramas and Marcia enjoys beading, creating jewelry and flower gardening.
