We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer (20 hours per week) to join our team! As our Grant Writer, you will be finding upcoming grant opportunities that align with our mission and organization, working closely with members of our organization to craft engaging proposals and letters of intent, and applying for grants and funding opportunities on behalf of our organization. You will also be maintaining a living calendar of grant opportunities, following up on applications, and working with the admin team to ensure that the appropriate funding is acquired.
This dual-role position will split time between supporting individuals through the SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) program to apply for Social Security disability benefits and advocating for housing solutions for these individuals. The role will involve working with individuals with serious mental illness, medical impairments, and/or co-occurring substance use disorders, in both non-traditional and structured environments. SOAR training provided. This work involves visits to challenging environments such as shelters, streets, and temporary living arrangements.
The role of Severe Weather Shelter Staff is to ensure the well-being of both clients and volunteers while overseeing regular routines in our severe weather shelter. Staff oversee all aspects of shelter operations while providing patient, respectful, compassionate, and empathetic support to our clients. Shelter Staff have a genuine concern for others, an ability to multitask and independently prioritize tasks along with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
